A BRIEF HISTORY
Cross and Crown Ministries started in the hearts of co-founders, Marty and Lori Ross, who both felt a strong need to reach out to others, especially families and youth, with the message of Jesus Christ. They stepped out in faith and dedicated their ranch as a place to be used to minister to families and young people. As they would say, "This is really our Lord's ranch--not ours, so we pray He will use it as He sees fit.
During meetings, events, services and social gatherings in general, other individuals expressed their growing concern and awareness of the prominent needs of families/youth in our communities.
These individuals joined together with a common desire to work with youth and families by conducting activities and providing group facilities for productive Christian-based activities which would strengthen and encourage the family as a unit and would help promote Christian values and guidance for our youth and children.
As a result, Cross and Crown Ministries, Inc. was started in 1996. Cross and Crown Ministries is a non-profit, interdenominational organization working to reach out to others with the love of Jesus. We are located at Cross and Crown Ranch just southeast of Marietta, Oklahoma.
The purpose and mission of Cross and Crown Ministries is for God to be glorified and others to know that--"Jesus Christ is Lord!"
Since the start of this ministry, God has made it possible for various activities to be held at Cross And Crown--all with the sole purpose of ministering to everyone involved, but with a sincere focus on families and young people. Cross and Crown Ministries hosts activities each year. Other groups also use the facilities for additional activities/events. Some of the activities which have been conducted include:
- Bible Studies
- Cowboy Day Camps
- Horsemanship Clinics
- Horseback Riding
- Soccer Camps
- Youth/Children Game Days/Activities
- Fishing, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Softball, Kickball, etc.
- Service and Outreach Projects
- Bible distribution to community and surrounding areas
- Church/Group Picnics and Cookouts
- Family and Small Group Outings
- Christian Cowboy Fellowships and Singings
- Ladies Retreats
- Western Play Days
- Sponsoring of youth groups to attend Fellowship of Christian Cowboys Rodeo Bible Camps in Colorado
